Ok, now that’s out of the way, let’s get into the top 5 beds that I reviewed.
Right up in the first spot is the Kuranda dog bed! And there’s a reason for that. Its because it simply does what it says on the box. This dog bed simply makes thing easy with a simple design and basic functionality, I mean who needs complexity? Especially when it comes to a dog bed.
I really like this bed and from the reviews, I’m not the only one too. This product as of date has over 600 5-star reviews and has made it to an Amazon choice listed product. The people voted it in for a reason!
It comes in 4 different colors and because of the netted mat design, it makes a perfect bed for inside your home. This bed is also a great option for any dog that is need of an orthopedic bed. So if your dog has any joint pains or has recently been through a surgery, then you can be sure this will be a great choice for a new bed.

- High strength PVC frame supports up to 100 lbs

- Orthopedic bed
- Abrasion-resistant netted fabric
- Comes in multiple sizes with a simple design (easy to put up)

2. K9 Ballistics Chew Proof Elevated Dog Bed (indestructible dog bed)
This bed had t make it right up in the top 5 chew proof dog beds. Why? Because of these beds a great option for heavy-duty chewers. It’s designed with a strong 100% aluminum frame, ripstop ballistic fabric and comes pre-assembled.
There’s no hassle with having to read instructions and what not…As it’s a straight plug and play system.
As the nylon fabric is densely woven, you’ll find that spillages and drool will have a hard time getting into it (wohooo!!!). So when it comes to cleaning a simple wipe every few days should do the trick.
One of the main aspects I really liked about this bed was the fact that its also orthopedic and has no sharp edges. The corners are rounded with hard plastic, so there’s no need to worry about your dog hurting themselves getting on and off the bed. And of course, if you have too then this will be a bonus.
Over on Amazon, you’ll find a great size chart where they show you what size bed to go for based on your breed of dog. There’s also a toughness score chart that evaluates the level of strength this bed offers in being “chew proof” which funny enough scores this a 5/5. So you’ll have to put it to the test to find out if that holds true.
To give a few pros and cons to this bed, I have listed them out below:
- Strong durable lightweight bed
- Orthopedic bed for dogs with joint problems too
- Pre-assembled in the box (plug and play)
- Design to fit into crates
- Easy to clean with strong fabric material
- 180 day chew proof warranty 180-day or they’ll replace for FREE
- Customers have reported fabric tore through (but you’re covered with free replacement)
- Drumming noise when the dog climbs on and off the bed
I think this makes a great bed for any size shape or breed of dog. If your dog has also recently had surgery or is experiencing some kind of problems with joints, then this will also make a great option too. The fact that you have a 180-day free replacement warranty makes this a great seal the deal type product for me.
I recommend that you check out some more details for this bed over on Amazon if you are interested in getting hold of one.
Heres a quick video of the product for you to take a look at:
This is the 2nd Kuranda dog bed that I’m reviewing here, and that’s because they are great dog beds but this one has a little more to offer than the first on the list.
The only reason I never placed this in the no1 spot is that it comes in at a little more than the first bed and its not always the most ideal price for the majority.
Anyway, that’s not to say that if you can spend the money that this bed isn’t a good choice (as its a great bed). And it actually managed to make it up to an Amazon choice product because of how good it truly is. The fabric is made from solid vinyl and has been designed for diggers and larger heavier dogs.
Which probably ticks every box there possibly is when buying a new bed for a medium to large dog. As with all Kuranda beds you are covered with a guarantee that says the bed will hold up excessive cleaning without incurring wear and tear and an aircraft grade aluminum frame that can hold up to 250lbs of weight.
To give you a quick list of what to expect from this bed, I have listed out a few main pros and cons just below:
- Orthopedic bed
- Strong frame made of lightweight aluminum
- Made with heavy duty 40z solid vinyl
- Easy to clean
- Can hold up to 250lbs in weight
- 1-year warranty (bed made in the USA)
- Does not come assembled
- Some dogs may take time to get used to this bed
This makes a great bed for any dog that chews through most other products. The downside to this was the fact that it doesn’t come assembled which is not a big deal if you’re capable of putting it up. The quality of this bed is 5 stars regardless which is probably the most important part of your decision. To see more details for this bed then head over to Amazon using the button just below.
This bed has to be one of the easiest and simple designs of the bunch. It comes pre-assembled with foldable legs so that you can fold it up on the move and transport it very easily when out on the move.
The bed stands about 8” from the ground which is good for helping your dog to stay off the cold/hot floor. This bed also holds up to 100lbs in weight so its a great option for most dogs and most golden retrievers max out at around 75lbs.
You have a choice of 4 lovely colors that consist of green, tan gray and black with each of them being very easy to clean. To give you an idea of whether this bed is for, I’ve listed out a few pros and cons just below:
- Can be used inside or outdoors
- Pre-assembled design with foldable legs (bed can fold in half too)
- Cheap price
- Holds up to 100 lbs in weight
- Comes with storage bag
- Doesn’t have a warranty listed on the seller’s page
- Poor quality material used on fabric
- Rips easily compared to other beds
- Made in China
As you can see this bed doesn’t hold up as well as the others when it comes to quality. But that’s always the case when you try to save money and avoid getting what you need to. So it’s an option that you’ll have to whey up for yourself. The reason this bed still made it onto my top 5 is that for under a 100 bucks this still makes a good dog bed for most breeds.
However when it comes to a large dog, then I don’t think this will be the best option in my opinion. But the choice is yours! To see more details for this bed then click the red button below to check it out on Amazon.
Last but not least is the most fashionable bed on the list. This dog bed is mainly used for outdoors but there’s no harm in bringing inside to use too.
It comes with a beautiful canopy to help your dog stay out of the sun and is advertised as a great bed to take away for camping.
For such a nice looking bed, this also comes with a nice steel frame and 1680D Oxford fabric so you know that no liquids or spillages will get through it, which in turn will make it super easy to clean too!
To help you get a. better idea as to wether this a great option, here are pointers to be awatre of;
- Preassembled in the box (takes a few minutes to put up)
- Can hold up to 120lbs in weight
- Comes with carrying bag
- Breathable fabric and canopy included
- Luxury looking design
- Reasonably priced
- No warranty is listed on sellers page for this product
- Canopy does not sit sturdily on bed
- Metal frame (can rust over time)
- Made in China
You can see that there are a few things to consider with this bed as its made of metal and designed in China. Not a great combo…thats not to say that you cant get great products from China, but you need to factor in that products that are made in China usually are done so for very cheap and made on a mass scale.
So there’s less time to focus on the quality of the product. To see if this bed holds up for what you need then just click the button below to ‘view it on Amazon’.
How to stop your dog from chewing things up
A great way to stop your dog from chewing anything and everything is to start implementing some training. A great start is to provide your dog with toys and foods to chew on instead of your household items. To give you a better idea of what you need to be doing, hers a video to drive this point home:
If you find that you are still having problems with your dog chewing up products, then training will be needed to help put this to a stop. I recommend that you start with the brain training for dogs online course by Adrienne Faracelli. It’s a great dog training program to allow you to train your dog at any time from anywhere and you also get lifetime access to a professional dog trainer too.
No doubt that the first 3 beds on the list are the best ones to go for when buying a bed for a medium to large dog. But they are also the most pricey too, I recommend that you take a look over on Amazon to see what bed is best for you.
And remember that each of them is good in their own way, but it all depends on what you’re looking for. I hope that by reading this you now have a much more clear idea as to what you are looking to buy.
